The Burley Scout & Guide Group AGM was held on 15th June 2017 at the Scout & Guide Hut
The highlights of the AGM included
- Guiding has just celebrated 100 years in the village and we should recognise the tremendous record of unbroken leadership that represents
- Scouting has been re-developing strongly under some new leadership roles. We now have two Scout troops which are growing rapidly towards capacity and we’ve recently added a second Beaver unit.
- All those connected with the New HQ Project have worked very hard and all the preliminary work has been completed, with full construction drawings now in place. Fundraising has been very hard – mainly because we are not in an area that readily attracts the support of significant donor trusts, companies and other organisations, yet we have raised over £200,000 and are within sight of being able to commence the build.
